ARF Dashnaktsutiun Sees Karabakh Issue as Precondition
Kiro Manoyan, Head of the ARF- Dashnaktsutiun Bureau’s Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office is confident that NKR authorities don’t express the will of Karabakhi people.
He thinks that the initiative of Armen Sargsian, an ARF parliamentarian in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, to amend Karabakh’s Criminal Code will be ignored. Armen Sargsian suggests punishing all those who question NKR’s territorial wholeness.
“Armen Sargsian presents the will of NKR citizens but the NKR parliament will ignore his initiative since the parliamentary majority doesn’t want the present borders to be fixed in the country’s constitution. The last article of the NKR Constitution says that the borders still need to be defined,” Kiro Manoyan told A1+.
“The statement of the EU Special representative for South Caucasus that Karabakh’s status is postponed for an indefinite time-period does not correspond to reality,” says the ARF- Dashnaktsutiun representative.
If Semneby’s statement were right, an agreement would have been reached on the Karabakh issue. No agreement has been signed over the principles laid on the negotiation table today as Azerbaijan demonstrates a negative posture. We have never heard the Azerbaijani President say they would sign an agreement in case NKR is left out of Azerbaijan’s territory.
Kiro Manoyan is confident that the Karabakh conflict will not be resolved in the near future.
The ARF-Dashnaktsutiun representative thinks that the regulation of the Karabakh conflict is set as a precondition in the Armenian-Turkish Protocols and ARF-Dashnaktsutiun will do its best to annul the documents.
ARF-Dashnaktsutiun is currently visiting Armenian villages to warn the population against the grave consequences of the Protocols.
